Finca Alelí is a queer-farm-lodge dedicated to providing intentional space with agri-culinary experiences for our LGBTQIA+ community to catch a breath, connect with the land, while learning about the food sovereignty movement in Puerto Rico
About Our Initiative

We are a queer-owned business that combines the expertise and drive of our team members-- Gabriela, who is an expert on cacao grown in agroforestry systems; and Karina, who focuses her work on community building and social justice within the LGBTQI+ community. Our combined fields has propelled us to create an intentional space for the community we aim to serve, and connect with, through regenerative agricultural practices that amplify Puerto Rico's food-security.
Overall Concept
Finca Alelí is an agroecological farm
combined with an eco-tourism concept aimed at LGBTQI individuals in Puerto Rico, and at LGBTQI tourists traveling to the island for longer term stays
Our Farm
An agroforestry cacao farm, implementing agroecological practices to grow food for self consumption & to further contribute to efforts of strengthening local, sustainable agriculture.
Our Lodging
Long term stays for artists, activists, and folks working in social justice that are looking for residencies, sabbaticals, or working from home arrangements. Weekly CSA baskets will be provided from the farm itself and volunteering on the land will be part of the integrageted experience.
Our Gastronomy
Monthly farm to table meals prepared with produce from the farm, or locally grown. Amplifying the local culinary scene with a rotation of Chefs accross the island.
